Senior System and Network Administrator

Customer is seeking a seasoned and proactive IT Manager to lead the full spectrum of IT operations for our Kuala Lumpur office. This strategic role will serve as the local head of IT, responsible for managing infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, service delivery, and IT personnel. The ideal candidate brings a balanced mix of technical expertise, hands‑on system administration skills, and networking skills. The role will support a secure and scalable IT environment, managing technologies such as Active Directory, Google Workspace, Firewalls, and enterprise network infrastructure while aligning with our global IT and cybersecurity standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the local IT team across helpdesk, infrastructure, and systems functions.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability and performance of IT systems, including hardware, software, and networking.
  • Oversee IT onboarding/offboarding and enforce access control policies and role‑based permissions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all IT assets, licenses, and configurations.
  • Administer and maintain on‑premise and cloud‑based servers (Windows/Linux).
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and system patching.
  • Maintain and support Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, etc.) and Microsoft 365.
  • Ensure system resilience through backup solutions, regular testing, and capacity planning.
  • Implement and manage device compliance, software deployment, and policy enforcement.
  • Oversee LAN/WAN operations, including switches, routers, firewalls, enterprise Wi‑Fi, and VPNs.
  • Manage Fortigate enterprise‑grade firewalls and ensure secure perimeter configurations.
  • Continuously monitor network performance, resolve bottlenecks, and implement redundancy strategies.
  • Coordinate upgrades, network segmentation, and secure remote access controls.
  • Enforce corporate cybersecurity policies locally, ensuring secure infrastructure and endpoints.
  • Deploy and monitor endpoint protection, MFA, data loss prevention (DLP), patch management, and MDM.
  • Support internal audits and maintain compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001.
  • Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Log and respond to security events and coordinate with the global Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Maintain relationships with local IT vendors, ISPs, and service providers.
  • Oversee IT procurement and license renewals.
  • Work closely with global IT, Cloud Teams, and Information Security teams on shared infrastructure and cloud initiatives.
  • Provide insights into technology improvements from a local operational perspective.
  • Regularly report on IT metrics, system performance, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience.
  • Proven experience in Network Infrastructure and Firewall Management.
  • Proven experience in Endpoint management and IT support services.
  • Proven experience in Monitoring Tools such as Zabbix.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, especially ISO 27001, and regulatory IT compliance.
  • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills.
  • No criminal record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • ITIL Foundation certification or similar service‑management framework.
  • Exposure to endpoint management tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Jamf).
  • Experience with SIEM tools or centralized logging (e.g., Splunk, ELK stack).

  • This is a 5‑day work‑from‑office role in Hyderabad.
