Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and detailed design for structural components and expansion joint/bearing systems.
• Perform structural analysis and design calculations (hand calculations and FEM) to meet client/consultant specifications and national/international design codes.
• Produce, review and approve shop drawings, assembly drawings, fabrication details and bill of materials.
• Coordinate with project managers, QA/QC, production, procurement and site teams to ensure constructability and timely delivery.
• Liaise with clients, engineering consultants and third‑party reviewers, attend technical meetings and represent the company on design issues.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and drafters; review their designs/drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards and regulations (e.g. MS, BS, Eurocodes, AASHTO where relevant) and internal quality procedures.
• Support manufacturing/fabrication with clarifications, tolerance control and fit‑up guidance; attend factory/site inspections and testing as required.
• Prepare technical submittals, calculation reports and design change notices (DCNs).
• Contribute to tender technical proposals: prepare scope, methodology, design assumptions, man‑hours and risk items.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5‑10 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, Revit).
• Strong knowledge of codes and industry standards (MS, BS, Eurocodes, AASHTO etc.).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
