A local education center in Miri seeks an experienced instructor to deliver engaging coding and STEM lessons to students aged 10–17. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years in teaching or training, with a strong grasp of lesson design and classroom facilitation, and the ability to teach in Mandarin, English, and Malay. Responsibilities include leading workshops, improving curriculum based on feedback, and ensuring quality student experiences. Travel and own transport are essential.
Deliver high-quality coding, STEM and problem-solving lessons to students aged 10–17.
Teach confidently in Mandarin, English and Malay.
Facilitate workshops, holiday camps, outreach activities, school programs, and corporate STEM initiatives.
Lead the development of lesson plans, teaching materials, project tasks, and assessment tools.
Design learning experiences that are engaging, inquiry-driven, and aligned with STEM education best practices.
Continuously improve curriculum based on student progress, feedback, and new technologies.
Ensure every class delivers strong learning outcomes and a fun, supportive environment.
Guide junior coaches, support teaching quality, and ensure consistent delivery across all programs.
Communicate with parents and partners professionally when needed.
Participate in major STEM events (hackathons, competitions, school outreach).
Support program execution during peak seasons — and enjoy quieter weeks afterward.
Minimum 3 years of teaching, training, or education-related experience (STEM, coding, robotics, science, ICT, or related fields).
Strong understanding of learning design, lesson planning, and classroom facilitation.
Ability to teach in Mandarin, English, and Malay (Mandarin is mandatory for this role).
Background in Computer Science, Education, Engineering, ICT or related fields.
Experience working with children is a strong advantage.
Based in Miri; frequent travel required (own transport is needed).
Self-driven, responsible, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
