Role Purpose: The Senior Specification Specialist is responsible for driving dormakaba’s growth in the Malaysia project market. You will lead efforts to ensure our solutions are accurately specified by architects and consultants from the early design phase through to project acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect Firm Engagement: Conduct regular, proactive visits to architectural firms to establish dormakaba as the preferred partner. Perform professional company introductions to expand our brand presence among new stakeholders.
• Project Lead Generation: Focus on getting projects back by identifying new leads, securing specifications, and ensuring dormakaba is locked into the tender.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical partner for architects, consultants, and developers, ensuring dormakaba products are written into early-stage tender documents.
• Business Development: Proactively identify new opportunities through disciplined cold calling and networking to maintain a lucrative project pipeline.
• Sales Support: Provide high-level technical support and hardware scheduling to the sales team to ensure specified projects are successfully converted into orders.
• Presentations: Lead professional group presentations, seminars, and customer experience center visits for industry decision-makers.
• Outstation Coverage: Manage and monitor projects across different regions, including outstation travel as required to support regional project goals.
• Reporting: Regularly update project status and follow-ups using Salesforce.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Specification and Business Development within the architectural hardware or construction industry.
• Education: Degree in Business, Quantity Surveying (QS), Project Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
• Market Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Malaysia project lifecycle, including tender processes and stakeholder hierarchies.
• Skills: Strong ability in cold calling, negotiation, and delivering high-impact group presentations.
