Role
The Day-To-Day Activities
- Strategic Coverage and Capacity Planning:
- Lead the development of long-term coverage and capacity strategies to meet evolving market demands and ensure a future-ready network.
- Oversee comprehensive analyses of coverage and capacity requirements, integrating advanced data analytics, environmental factors, and emerging technologies.
- Define high-level solutions by leveraging cutting-edge propagation models, tools, and industry best practices to optimize network performance.
- Drive initiatives to enhance spectral efficiency, throughput, and quality of service through innovative planning techniques.
- Evaluate on key network performance metrics (e.g., signal strength, data rates, latency) to ensure adherence to organizational and industry standards.
- Industry Engagement and Regulatory Compliance:
- Represent the organization in high-level industry forums and regulatory meetings (e.g., MCMC) to influence and align coverage and capacity strategies with national requirements.
- Spearhead collaborations with industry partners for network-sharing solutions, optimizing resource use while meeting regulatory and customer expectations.
- Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the Radio High Level Planning Team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Oversee the professional development of engineers, ensuring skill alignment with industry advancements and company objectives.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, and deployment teams to ensure seamless execution of planning strategies.
- Innovation and Process Enhancement:
- Champion the adoption of automation, AI-driven tools, and advanced scripting to streamline planning processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay ahead of industry trends (e.g., 6G, IoT integration) to ensure the network remains competitive and scalable.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in RAN planning and design for mobile networks.
- Experience in leading network transformation projects from 4G into 5G
- Expert-level knowledge of 2G/3G/4G/5G technologies, standards, and emerging trends.
- Proficiency with advanced network planning tools (e.g., ASSET, Atoll, Planet) and GIS software (e.g., MapInfo, Google Earth).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven leadership abilities with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated success in driving automation and innovation in network planning workflows.
