Job Description

The Role Experienced autonomous professional responsible for improving technical alignment, health, and engineering practices within SEEK Group Engineering teams. Develop software in product/platform teams while coaching junior engineers and delivering user-centric, scalable solutions.

The Team Cross-functional, multi-disciplinary squads within APAC matrix structure serving internal/external customers (Candidate, Hirer, AIPS, Technology Platforms). Work with engineers of all levels, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, UX/Visual Designers, and Data Analysts.

Key Accountabilities

Build

• Guide engineers in building, testing, deploying software from development to production
• Improve platform health ensuring reliable, resilient, efficient systems
• Drive software development strengthening engineering best practices
• Build highly scalable, performant cloud-first software aligned with SEEK's technology strategy

Execute

• Write clean, well-tested, readable software using secure coding practices
• Improve quality, engineering discipline, and team capability
• Strengthen Agile delivery and secure coding practices
• Provide operational support including on-call duties

Support

• Contribute to team safety, work-life balance, and well-being
• Key contributor to new hire onboarding

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Experience creating/maintaining software in 2+ modern languages
• Cloud-first (AWS) application design, development, and support experience
• API, logging, monitoring/alerting experience
• Strong CI/CD, Design Patterns, and Data Modelling experience
• Modern development practices (TDD, BDD, Clean Code)
• Operational support and on-call experience
• Data-driven decision making
• Knowledge sharing and mentoring experience

Desirable

• Leadership experience in software engineering teams
