Job overview
This is a 1‑year fixed term contract. Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems, servers, storage, and backup within an organization. They ensure that IT infrastructure runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently to support business operations.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and update hardware and software systems while monitoring performance and ensuring uptime.
- Design and implement backup strategies, schedule and verify backups, and test disaster recovery plans.
- Manage storage systems such as SAN, NAS, and cloud storage, optimizing performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Administer Office 365 tenant, including user accounts, licenses, permissions, and services like Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Manage cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, deploying virtual machines and optimizing cost, scalability, and security.
- Deploy and maintain antivirus software across endpoints and servers, monitor threats, and coordinate remediation efforts.
- Configure and manage email filtering systems to block spam and phishing, monitor traffic, and integrate with mail servers.
- Ensure disaster recovery capability through tested recovery plans and maintain data integrity during failures.
- Enforce security measures such as MFA, DLP, encryption, and IAM roles across systems and cloud platforms.
- Document backup schedules, storage configurations, recovery procedures, and produce periodic security and compliance reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computing, Information Technology, or Computer Science; professional certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator or vendor‑specific credentials are an advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar IT infrastructure or system administration role.
- Proven technical expertise in Windows and Linux environments, backup tools (e.g., Dell Networker), enterprise storage systems (e.g., Dell Unity), Office 365 administration, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), antivirus solutions (TrendMicro), and email filtering technologies.
- Strong capability in designing and testing disaster recovery (DR) plans and implementing comprehensive backup strategies.
- In‑depth knowledge of SAN/NAS storage management and cloud storage optimization for performance and capacity.
- Advanced proficiency in Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, Azure Active Directory, and Teams administration.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, hybrid) and associated security best practices.
- Familiarity with endpoint protection, malware threat response, and email gateway security for spam and phishing prevention.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills for diagnosing complex system issues; flexibility to work after office hours, remain on standby, and travel to Port Dickson as required.
- Demonstrated experience in IT project coordination, with strong written and verbal communication skills, effective time management, and meticulous documentation practices.
