Job summary

An engineering company based in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Petroleum Engineer with a B.Eng. degree and at least 12 years of oilfield experience. The successful candidate will have strong skills in production optimisation and various artificial lift systems. Duties include preparing Field Development Plans and conducting technology screenings. The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, along with a proactive attitude. This position is for an estimated duration of 6 months.

Qualifications

  • Minimum twelve (12) years oilfield experience with ten (10) years as Petroleum Engineer or Production Technologist.
  • Experience in conducting technology screening and applying best technologies.
  • Possess working knowledge of well integrity and HSE monitoring.

  • Prepare Field Development Plan (FDP) documentation for review.

Job description
  • Minimum of a B.Eng. degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum twelve (12) years oilfield experience with at least ten (10) years of working experience as Petroleum Engineer or Production Technologist.
  • Experienced in day-to-day production optimisation and various artificial lift systems.
  • Advanced user in Petroleum Experts IPM suite of modelling tools (GAP, PROSPER, MBAL, PVTp, RESOLVE).
  • Experience in brownfields FDP/FFR, production chemistry, PVT modelling, sand control/management design, conceptual completion design, tubing stress analysis, cased-hole log interpretation.
  • Excellent understanding of flow dynamics, near wellbore damage behaviours and flow assurance in relations to any FDP/FFR development project.
  • Experience in the preparation of the Field Development Plan (FDP) documentation for review and approval by the respective stakeholders.
  • Experience in conducting technology screening and ability to challenge existing design and well operational processes in order to apply best technologies and practices / minimize operating costs.
  • Possess working knowledge of well integrity, HSE monitoring and tracking.
  • Flexible and pro-active attitude, a good team player, willing to provide coaching and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Outstanding communicator, good organizational, multi-tasking capability, interpersonal and presentation skills and thorough command of the spoken and written English language.
