Job summary

A leading property development and construction company in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Contract Executive to manage contracts for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying, over 5 years of experience, and strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. This full-time role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • More than 5 years' experience in a similar contract administration or legal support role, preferably in the Construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
  • Reviewing specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and costing structures.
  • Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and conducting feasibility studies.

Skills

Strong understanding of construction contract management principles and practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia

About the role

Join KTI Landmark Berhad as a Senior Contract Executive in our Kota Kinabalu, Sabah office. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management of contracts for our construction projects.

What you'll be doing
  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the subcontractor, engineer and/or the client.
  • Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
  • Keep up with present market rates.
  • Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
  • To attend all site meetings as and when required by your superior.
  • Ensure that all contractual notices are issued in accordance with the conditions of contract.
  • Able to source for sub-contractors/suppliers and negotiate to competitive prices.
  • Preparation of Progress Claims.
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
  • Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work, costing structures, contractual requirements and preparing the letter of award to sub-contractors.
  • Assist to evaluate monthly progress claims; and
  • Other duties to be assigned from time to time by Immediate Superior or the Management.
What we're looking for
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
  • More than 5 years' experience in a similar contract administration or legal support role, preferably in the Construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction contract management principles and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
