Job summary

A construction company in Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to assist in preparing cost estimates and managing tender documents. Responsibilities include evaluating subcontractor quotations, preparing progress claims, and maintaining project records. Candidates should have a diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, along with 3–5 years of relevant experience, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Job description
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, bill of quantities (BQ), and tender documents.
  • Collect and verify material and labour costs from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assist in evaluation of subcontractor quotations and preparation of comparison sheets.
  • Prepare and submit progress claims, variation orders (VO), and final accounts.
  • Conduct site measurement and update records accurately.
  • Support procurement activities by preparing purchase requisitions and verifying material quantities.
  • Assist in cost control and monitoring project expenditures.
  • Keep track of project claims, payments, and correspondence.
  • Ensure all contract documents and records are properly filed and updated.
  • Coordinate with project teams, site staff, and consultants to ensure smooth execution of QS works.
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned by the Management.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Candidates with 3–5 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials, costing, and measurement methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic AutoCAD (added advantage).
  • Good analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently with guidance and handle multiple tasks.
  • Possess own transport and willing to travel to site when required.
