Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for traffic management projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that all costs are tracked and controlled effectively.
- Tendering Process: Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tenders and quotations, ensuring compliance with project specifications and client requirements.
- Contract Administration: Manage and administer contracts, including negotiating terms and conditions, and resolving disputes.
- Financial Reporting: Provide detailed financial reports and forecasts to support project management and decision‑making.
- Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress and expenditures, and provide recommendations for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, contracts, and correspondence related to the project.
- Client Liaison: Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure clear understanding of project requirements and resolve any issues that arise.
- Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, standards, and safety regulations related to traffic management.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the project stays on track and within budget.
- Travel Requirements: Willing to travel, including outstation or mobilization, depending on site project requirements.
- Lead Quantity Surveyors: Coordinate all Quantity Surveyor actions as a leader for contract team members to achieve company goals.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., MRICS) are advantageous.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with specific experience in traffic management projects being highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in cost estimation and budget management.
- Knowledge: In‑depth understanding of construction contracts, financial management, and traffic management regulations and standards.
- Abilities: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Personal Traits: Detail‑oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
