Job summary

A leading construction firm in Johor Bahru is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage cost databases, prepare claims and liaise with stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a relevant degree and at least 2 years of experience in construction projects. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential. Applications from candidates with plumbing systems experience or knowledge of green construction standards are preferred.

Conduct precise quantity take-offs and site valuations

Verify detailed measurements and specifications from consultants

Establish and maintain comprehensive cost databases for materials and suppliers

Claims & Contract Management

Prepare and submit Main Progress Claims and Sub-Contractor Claims and Certificates

Negotiate and follow up on payment certificates with main contractors

Resolve variation order issues efficiently and professionally

Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise effectively with sub-contractors and suppliers on contract matters

Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth project delivery

Support management with ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

• Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Pleasant personality with professional interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in plumbing systems or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) projects
