A leading construction company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs and provide contract administration. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying and have at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry. Detailed Taking Off: Perform accurate measurement and taking off from architectural and structural drawings using SMM2/CESMM standards.
Budget Estimation: Prepare preliminary estimates, cost plans, and feasibility studies.
Tender Management: Prepare Bill of Quantities (BQ), tender documents, and manage the competitive bidding process.
Sub-contractor Selection: Evaluate tenders, perform cost comparisons, and negotiate contracts with sub-contractors and suppliers.
Cost Control: Monitor project expenses against budget and provide regular financial reports (Cost Value Reconciliations).
Valuations: Prepare and submit monthly progress claims and internal valuations.
Variation Management: Identify, price, and negotiate variations (Change Orders) with clients and sub-contractors.
Final Accounts: Manage the timely settlement of final accounts and resolution of disputes/claims.
Mentorship: Supervise and mentor Junior/Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
Contract Administration: Provide expert advice on contractual matters.
Risk Management: Identify commercial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
Certification: Professional membership is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects.
Measurement: Expert proficiency in manual taking off and digital measurement.
Software: Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD.
Contract Knowledge: Deep understanding of local and international standard forms of contract.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
