Job summary

A food manufacturing company in Penang is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include implementing QA systems, conducting audits, and managing documentation. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Food Science or related field and has 2-4 years of QA experience in food manufacturing. Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and ability to communicate in Mandarin are essential for engaging with clients effectively.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–4 years’ QA experience in food manufacturing.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain QA systems, SOPs, and quality documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with food safety, hygiene, GMP, and internal procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections, audits, and corrective action follow-ups.
  • Manage product quality records, traceability, and non-conformance reports.
  • Support training on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures.
  • Investigate quality issues and work with production to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Job Purpose

To ensure Butterfield’s products, processes, and documentation comply with food safety, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

What you will be doing (Key Responsibilities)
  • Implement and maintain QA systems, SOPs, and quality documentation
  • Monitor compliance with food safety, hygiene, GMP, and internal procedures
  • Conduct routine inspections, audits, and corrective action follow-ups
  • Manage product quality records, traceability, and non-conformance reports
  • Coordinate customer, internal, and regulatory audits (including ethical sourcing where applicable)
  • Support training on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures
  • Investigate quality issues and work with production to implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure proper documentation control and record retention
What do we need from you (Job Requirements)
  • Diploma / Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, or related field
  • Minimum 2–4 years’ QA experience in food manufacturing
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, and quality systems
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients
