Job summary

Virtuos in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Senior QA Engineer to ensure quality, reliability, and AI product performance used by employees. You will lead testing from prototypes through release, collaborate with R&D, product managers, and internal users, and mentor junior QA engineers.

Requires 5+ years QA experience (≥2 in senior roles), strong automation with Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, and hands-on testing of AI-enabled apps; familiarity with Playwright/Cypress/Selenium and CI/CD is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of QA experience, including ≥2 years in a senior/lead role.
• Strong experience testing cloud apps, APIs, and integrations; desktop testing familiarity.
• Hands-on testing of AI-enabled apps; assess outputs and define quality measures.
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript for test automation.
• Experience adding automated tests to CI/CD (e.g., GitLab CI).
• Knowledge of Git, REST API testing, authentication, and RBAC.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; mentor QA across teams.
• Preferred: experience evaluating AI search and tools, production monitoring, secure data handling.

Responsibilities

• Define test strategies, plans, and release criteria for internal AI products.
• Test workflows across web, cloud, and desktop apps; verify APIs and access controls.
• Build and maintain evaluation datasets; define scoring criteria for accuracy and relevance.
• Evaluate AI outputs with repeatable tests and human review.
• Verify knowledge search sources, references, and access restrictions for AI.
• Test safeguards for confidential information and data leakage.
• Create automated functional, API, regression, and AI tests; integrate with CI/CD.
• Monitor performance: response times, concurrency, timeouts, and error handling.
• Coordinate pilot testing and user acceptance; translate feedback into tests.
• Investigate defects with engineers; capture logs, model versions, steps to reproduce.
• Report coverage and risks; ensure release readiness and post-launch quality.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and propagate best practices.
