Job Summary
This senior executive role leads the full lifecycle management of diverse construction initiatives, spanning retail, residential, hospitality, and infrastructure sectors. The position is responsible for driving contractual integrity, optimizing design efficiency, and steering stakeholder engagement to deliver projects within established budget and timeline constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Steer the implementation of construction works to ensure full compliance with contractual obligations, technical standards, and approved project timelines.
- Obtain all requisite governmental authorizations, covering initial site preparation permits through to final statutory compliance and completion certifications.
- Supervise external design consultants across conceptual, schematic, and tender stages to guarantee that deliverables meet prescribed deadlines.
- Uphold corporate quality management protocols and enforce specific project quality plans throughout all phases of construction.
- Report regularly to senior leadership, providing transparent updates on critical matters such as defects, non-compliant items, and schedule deviations.
- Control scope variations to limit the financial impact of change orders during the execution phase.
- Review design evolution and tender documents to confirm that consultants have maximized design efficiency and value.
- Manage the consolidation and archiving of final as-built documentation at the headquarters prior to the release of practical completion certificates.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks that may cause delays or damage the organization’s reputation.
- Offer strategic guidance and leadership to project managers, ensuring their activities align with broader corporate goals.
Requirements
- A professional degree in Architecture, Civil or Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a directly related discipline.
- A minimum of 15 years of practical experience in construction delivery or project management roles.
- Demonstrated leadership aptitude and strong interpersonal skills for effective coordination with internal departments, external consultants, and contractors.
- Proven track record in navigating government regulatory processes to secure necessary permits, licenses, and approvals.
- Advanced expertise in procurement methodologies, including contract drafting, vendor selection, and the oversight of goods and services acquisition.
