Job summary

A leading construction firm in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced project manager to provide strategic leadership and oversee school funding grants. The ideal candidate will have over 20 years of experience in project management, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a willingness to travel throughout Malaysia. Job description
Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and oversee the implementation of school funding grants, including due diligence to assess funding needs and deliverables.

Develop and execute project plans, monitor progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.

Collaborate with schools, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Liaise with service providers and contractors to resolve on-site issues affecting work progress or funding. Conduct site visits prior to payment release.

Attend site meetings with contractors, school principals, and the Board of Governors.

Participate actively in tendering processes to ensure technical compliance and fair pricing.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to prepare relevant reports.

Prepare school funding proposals for submission to the Board of Trustees for approval.

Coordinate launching events with the schools to officiate the completion of projects sponsored by The Community Chest (TCC).

What we're looking for
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in refurbishment, construction, or project management (retirees in related fields are encouraged to apply).
  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Malaysia.
