We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver complex engineering projects within our automation business. In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects end-to-end, from contract feasibility through installation, customer acceptance, and project closure, ensuring technical compliance, cost control, quality, performance, and adherence to agreed timelines.
You will work closely with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams, customers, and external suppliers to ensure projects are executed efficiently and in line with internal processes, quality standards, and contractual requirements. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage risks, resources, and stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all phases of the project and act as the primary point of contact for customers from order receipt through installation and the warranty period at customer sites worldwide.
- Lead and/or support multiple projects involving the delivery of services or equipment, with the ability to take full responsibility for project costs, schedules, deadlines, and resources, or manage specific phases or scopes when working with other project managers.
- Plan and manage project phases and milestones to optimize costs while meeting technical specifications, quality standards, and customer satisfaction requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate project team activities and closely monitor progress across all project phases.
- Identify deviations, risks, and issues, and propose and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with customers and suppliers to support strategic decisions and project direction.
- Provide regular project progress reports to management and monitor and forecast project costs in coordination with the Controlling department.
- Coordinate project monitoring and development with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactively contribute ideas and initiatives to continuously improve IMA Automation’s performance.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microtechnology, Electronics, Mechanics, Automation, or a related discipline.
- PMP, IPMA, or equivalent project management certification is a strong advantage.
- 5–10 years of proven experience managing large-scale projects in the automation industry.
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive, stakeholder-focused mindset.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a solution-oriented, results-driven approach.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians, and fitters.
- Pragmatic, well-organized, and methodical, with strong prioritization and decision-making skills.
- High resilience to stress and the ability to perform effectively in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Comfortable working in a multicultural and international setting.
- Proficient in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
