Job summary

Solarvest is seeking a Project Engineer in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of 3 years of project management or construction experience. Responsibilities include developing project plans, overseeing engineering activities, managing procurement, controlling budgets, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. Strong communication skills and proficiency in English and Malay are essential, with Mandarin as a plus. Candidates must be willing to relocate during project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (preferably electrical engineering or related field).
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in project management or construction field.
• Able to relocate to outstation during project execution.
• Strong capability in planning and coordination with good resource management skills.
• Team player and guidance to junior engineer.
• Proactive communication and interpersonal skills.
• Timely proactive reporting to superior.
• Competent in AutoCAD & Microsoft Office (project, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Proficient in English & Malay. Mandarin proficiency will be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in developing the overall project execution plan.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ensure engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities align with project objectives.
• Review and approve engineering documents for compliance with project specifications.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to specify material and equipment requirements.
• Monitor and coordinate construction activities to adhere to project plans.
• Assist in preparing and monitoring the project budget and controlling costs.
• Act as the primary liaison between clients and project teams.
• Identify and assess project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure all activities comply with QA/QC procedures and safety standards.
