A leading engineering firm in Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer specializing in Building Automation Systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5–10 years of relevant experience. Key responsibilities include leading projects, system design, technical guidance, and client engagement. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for this role, which offers a mix of office and field work.
Lead and coordinate multiple building automation projects (HVAC, electrical, lighting, etc.).
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
Oversee subcontractors and ensure alignment with project scope and safety standards.
Conduct project cost reviews and manage billing coordination.
Design, configure, and commission building automation systems (BAS).
Familiar with system design and protocols like BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and others.
Ensure systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Resolve site matters with customer and contractor.
Optimize resources and ensure smooth project delivery.
Communicate with clients, architects, and contractors to align project goals.
Deliver training and documentation, such as handover documents and operation manuals.
Support strategic planning for smart building initiatives.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering.
Experience: 5–10 years in building automation, with proven project engineering experience.
MUST have minimum 3 years experience with Building Automation Systems.
Familiarity with IT infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) as it relates to BAS.
Strong in documentation and able to handle meeting coordination.
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
Detail‑oriented with a proactive mindset.
Mix of office and field work (typically 30–50% on‑site).
Travel may be required for project coordination.
Reports to Engineering Manager or Project Director.
