We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager / Product Lead to drive the strategy, development, and delivery of our cross-border payment and digital wallet ecosystem. This role requires a strong product leader who can work across global teams—collaborating with stakeholders in Malaysia, Melbourne, and China to deliver high-quality, compliant, and scalable financial products.
You will report directly to the CTO based in Melbourne, working closely with the GM Product, Compliance team, UX/UI designers, and our China engineering team to execute the product roadmap.
This position is fully on-site at our Malaysia office in Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur. Mandarin proficiency is required for daily communication with our China-based engineering and design teams.
Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap across payments, wallet, and financial service features.
Conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and customer research to identify product opportunities.
Develop business cases, feature prioritization, and product KPIs aligned with company goals.
Lead product lifecycle from discovery, requirements gathering, and PRD writing to delivery and iteration.
Collaborate with engineering teams in China to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment on technical solutions.
Coordinate UX/UI reviews with Melbourne-based designers and ensure smooth design-to-development handover.
Drive go-to-market planning, launch readiness, and cross-functional alignment.
Oversee QA processes, UAT cycles, defect resolution, and release management.
Conduct post-launch evaluations, monitor performance metrics, and implement continuous product improvements.
Manage production incidents by triaging with engineering, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
Document incident actions, root-cause findings, and follow-up fixes for long-term stability.
Own and refine the Jira product backlog, ensuring both technical tasks and user-driven requests are prioritised effectively.
Organise and facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, backlog grooming, and cross‑functional syncs.
Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders, Melbourne team members, and China development teams.
Review product analytics, user behaviour, funnel metrics, and performance KPIs to guide roadmap prioritisation.
Lead A/B tests and optimisation initiatives to enhance product adoption, retention, and efficiency.
Mentor and support a bilingual junior product manager, providing day‑to‑day coaching, structure, and development guidance.
Promote a collaborative, accountable, and product‑centric team culture. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., risk, AML/KYC, licensing).
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on product management experience, preferably in retail payments, including card issuing/acquiring and digital wallets, digital asset trading platforms or digital banking environment.
Deep understanding of payment and wallet ecosystems, including compliance, user flows, and technical constraints.
Professional fluency in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
Strong capability in designing end‑to‑end user journeys for card issuing/acquiring, digital wallet payments and crypto on‑ramp and off‑ramp transactions.
Hands‑on Agile experience, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross‑functional squad delivery.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to leverage KPIs to drive product strategy and improvements.
Familiar with tools – Jira · Confluence · Figma · MS365 ·
Ability to interpret API documentation; familiarity with crypto wallets and platforms such as Fireblocks is a plus.
