Job summary

MVC Resources seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead process optimization across high-capacity oleo-chemical plants in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. You will drive throughput, yield, and safety improvements, mentor operators, and coordinate with engineering and safety teams to ensure peak plant performance.

The role requires 4–6 years in continuous chemical processing, expertise in HAZOP, MOC, PSM, and strong knowledge of mass/energy balances, DCS, and PIMS analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 4–6 years of hands-on process engineering experience in continuous chemical plants.
• Direct background in oleo-chemicals, edible oil refining, petrochemicals, or continuous heavy chemical manufacturing is advantageous.
• Proficiency in HAZOP facilitation, MOC administration, and Process Safety Management (PSM).
• Strong grasp of mass/heat balances, fluid dynamics, heat exchange systems, and distillation hydraulics.
• Familiarity with PIMS data analytics, DCS control logic, and process simulation software.
• Professional registration with BEM or DOSH/DOE regulatory experience preferred.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia with strong analytical and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous process optimization across high-temperature and high-pressure production lines to maximize throughput, product purity, and mass yield.
• Identify and execute cost-down initiatives by optimizing catalyst/chemical consumption and utility loads; conduct steam trap and heat-exchanger audits.
• Lead HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and process hazard analyses; manage MOC documentation and PTW approvals.
• Direct, mentor, and supervise production staff; deliver training on technical, process safety, and SOP topics.
• Collaborate with Instrumentation & Control teams to drive DCS/APC automation initiatives and reduce operator interventions.
