Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to work in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a 2-year contract. The role involves supervising engineering teams, managing complex projects in the oil and gas sector, and requires significant experience in refinery and petrochemical projects. The ideal candidate has a degree in Chemical Engineering and a proven track record in process engineering, including hands-on experience in startups and commissioning.

Qualifications

  • At least 10-12 years engineering experience working on refineries, petrochemicals or oil and gas projects.
  • At least 5 years engineering experience as a lead process engineer in reputable engineering and EPC companies.
  • Involvement in 2 FEED or EPC detailed engineering experiences in refinery projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise FEED & EPC consultants.
  • Perform conventional aspects of process engineering.
  • Manage workgroup schedules, budgets, and progress.

Job description

Connect Energy partners with an oil and gas engineering company to look for a SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER to work in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a 2-year contract.

Responsibilities
  • Focal and subject matter expert for process discipline in the engineering management team and to supervise FEED & EPC consultants.
  • Performs all conventional aspects of process engineering.
  • The candidate should be able to work as part of a team or show leadership capabilities managing areas or systems within projects.
  • Must have experience and be proficient in developing heat and material balances using process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
  • Experience in combustion process is highly advantageous with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) development as well as experience generating fluid hydraulic calculations for line sizing and formulation of process data for in-line instruments and loads such as blowers, pumps, compressors, and turbines.
Requirements
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • At least 10-12 years engineering experience working on refineries, petrochemicals or oil and gas projects.
  • At least consecutive 5 years engineering experience as a lead process engineer in internationally reputable engineering and EPC companies working on a refinery, petrochemical or oil and gas project.
  • Involved in 2 FEED or EPC detailed engineering experience in in refinery, petrochemical or oil and gas project from beginning until end of FEED or detailed engineering in both green field and brown field projects.
  • Hands-on engineering experience in startup and commissioning of refineries, petrochemicals or oil and gas projects will be advantages.
  • Working and coordinating with high value engineering centers i.e. India etc.
  • Process simulation.
  • PFD and P&ID development

  • Overpressure analysis and relief calculations including flare load estimation and flare header sizing.
  • Production of process design basis documents and various narratives
  • Managing workgroup schedules, budgets, and progress
