Job summary

A leading FMCG company in Kajang is looking for a Research and Development Executive to formulate food supplements. Responsibilities include product formulation, improving existing products, and conducting stability tests. Candidates should have a Master or Bachelor of Science in a relevant field and 5 years of experience in the personal care industry. Strong technical know-how and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are essential.

Responsibilities

• Formulate new product formulations and source new chemicals according to marketing demand.
• Improve existing formulations to enhance cost and quality.
• Carry out stability tests related to product development.
• Validate production flow for new products.
• Guide assistants towards company policies.

Job description

Research and Development Executive (Food Supplements)

Responsibilities

• To formulate new product formulations and source new chemicals/fragrance according to marketing demand or R&D brief.
• To improve the existing formulation to a better product in terms of cost, texture, fragrance & etc.
• To carry out 3-month stability test and follow up on the status of the projects given.
• To validate the production flow and ensure the stability and quality of the new confirmed products.
• In-charge of new product trial run & commercial run once the formula is confirmed, including preparation of BMR & costing.
• To guide and counsel assistants towards company policy & ensure they perform according to their job requirements.
• Utilize and apply the use of RDMS software.
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor of Science, Major in Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry.
• 5 years working experience in personal care industry in FMCG line.
• Strong technical know-how.
• Aggressive, fast-thinking and ability to operate within a challenging environment.
• Computer literate, well-versed in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
