Job description
Senior Occupational Therapist (George Town)
  • Assist the Head of Therapy in establishing, implementing and administering unit policies and procedures in accordance to MSQH Service Standards.
  • Assess and analyse individual patients to determine their need for occupational therapy intervention through patient-centred practice.
  • Delegate allocated tasks to Occupational Therapist / Rehab Assistants and supervise where appropriate, to maximise efficiency and to achieve desired quality of care.
  • Participate and conducts clinical in-service training to Occupational Therapist and Rehab Assistants.
  • Responsible for correctly preparing equipment for the task, using equipment safely following established procedures, reporting problems, cleaning, maintaining and storing equipment appropriately, leaving the work area clean and safe.
  • Patients will have a range of medical and psychosocial problems that require the Occupational Therapist to utilise motivational and persuasive skills to facilitate rehabilitation both in an individual and group setting.

Education / Professional Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • At least five (5) years of working experience in a hospital or Rehab Centre set-up in the Return-to-Work Programme.
  • Experience in working with patients who have a range of conditions, including Neurological, Musculoskeletal, Cardiovascular and Orthopedic
