Job summary

Bosch Group in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to optimize assembly processes, define equipment specs, and lead line releases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing or process engineering, hands-on PFMEA/Control Plan experience, and strong analytical skills with excellent communication. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in manufacturing, assembly processes or process engineering.
• Hands-on experience in line setup, PFMEA, and Control Plan development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in cross-functional environments.
• Proficiency in English and willingness to travel internationally when required.

Responsibilities

• Plan assembly processes flow to improve manufacturing efficiency and collaborate with project teams to reduce product cost.
• Support RFQ calculations; estimate investments for standard assembly modules.
• Define equipment specifications, plan, purchase, set up and release manufacturing cells within budget.
• Evaluate equipment and process performance; prepare technical reports and trends.
• Establish process specifications, maintenance strategies and line release documentation.
• Develop troubleshooting guides and train technicians; apply problem-solving methods in assembly.
• Participate in CIP on Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery and provide corrective/preventive actions.
• Improve technical capacity and capability in assembly processes per customer demand.
• Strive for higher OEE, FPY, MTTR, MTBF; foster Value Stream Organization teamwork.

Job Description

• Planning of assembly processes flow considering manufacturing efficiency. Collaboratewith project team to seek and strive for minimizing product cost through design and process optimization.
• Support in the RFQ calculation; calculate and provide investment needed for standard assembly process modules.
• Define equipment specification in accordance to product specification. Plan, purchase (with supervision), setup and release manufacturing cells on time, at budget and with desired requirement.
• Involve in each project stages to evaluate equipment and process performance. Formulate technical and/or performance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
• Identify and establish process specifications, maintenance strategies and other manufacturing documents required for line release activity.
• Conduct problem solving methodology in assembly processes and equipment. In meantime also developing troubleshooting guide and training of technical know-how to technician.
• Actively participate in system CIP on value disposition as in S-Q-C-D (Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery).
• Provide effective countermeasure in technical flaw encompassed with corrective and preventive action plan.
• Study, evaluate and improve the technical capacity and capability in assembly processes accorded to customer’s demand.
• Continuously strive for higher and sustainable OEE, FPY, MTTR, MTBF.
• Emphasize the intensity of team work culture in VSO (Value Stream Organization) moving towards operational excellence.
• Any other duties assigned by immediate superior from time to time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly processes, or process engineering.
• Hands-on experience in line setup, process planning, PFMEA, and Control Plan development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.
• Proficiency in English and willingness to travel internationally when required.
