Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior .NET / Azure Migration Engineer to modernize and migrate legacy Azure-based systems to current frameworks and SDKs. The role requires strong expertise in event-driven architectures, Azure PaaS services, and the ability to preserve system behavior during migration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead migration of Azure Functions (in-process) to .NET v4 isolated worker model
- Upgrade legacy SDKs to modern Azure SDKs
- Analyze, maintain, and validate end-to-end message flows in distributed systems
- Ensure integrity of:
- Message contracts
- Routing and filtering logic
- Retry policies and dead-letter handling
- Develop and maintain solutions using Azure Service Bus
- Message properties and manual settlement
- Maintain and migrate Azure WebJobs / background processing services
- Preserve behavior of third-party API integrations, including:
- Authentication, callbacks, retries, timeouts, and error handling
- Deploy, configure, and validate Azure Function Apps in local and Dev environments
- Sample Service Bus messages
- API payload testing
- Smoke testing in Dev/local environments
- Work closely with DevOps teams to update CI/CD pipelines for modernized applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve build, runtime, configuration, and integration issues
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in C# / .NET (latest frameworks preferred)
- Hands‑on experience with Azure PaaS services
- Deep knowledge of Azure Service Bus
- Experience with Azure Functions (in-process and isolated models)
- Strong understanding of event-driven and microservices architectures
- Experience working with legacy systems and modernization projects
- Excellent debugging and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience migrating ADAL to MSAL or Azure Identity
- Hands‑on experience with Application Insights and Azure monitoring/logging
- Exposure to legacy systems with outdated deployments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently in complex environments
- Clear communication and stakeholder collaboration
- High attention to detail in preserving system behavior
