Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Lead to oversee mechanical systems across major construction projects, including data centres and high-tech facilities. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and drive on-time delivery from design to handover.

The role requires 10+ years in mechanical project management, PMP/Prince2 or PE credentials, and a proven track record in large HVAC infrastructure. On-site work in Malaysia-based projects offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in mechanical scope management on large construction or data centre projects.
• Proven HVAC and mechanical infrastructure project delivery experience.
• PMP/Prince2 certification or PE license is a plus.
• Experience with EPC/EPCM or DB/Construction Management projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical project activities from design through commissioning and handover.
• Provide leadership to Mechanical Engineers, site teams, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Oversee HVAC, chilled water, piping, pumps, and related infrastructure.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, cost control, and change management processes.
• Develop schedules aligned with project milestones.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, and other teams for integration.
• Review designs, shop drawings, and material specifications.
• Lead testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Ensure health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate progress to clients and senior management.
