Person in charge for designated disciplines in design and technical aspects;
Strong knowledge in commercial/industrial HVAC system and Piping system, preferably experienced with chiller and Air Handling Unit (AHU) design;
Experience in energy optimization project would be an added advantage
Engineering Stage
- Lead engineering design and calculations;
- Assist in tender planning, scheduling, and budgeting
- Prepare technical reports, presentation and proposals
- Ensure design is delivered in as per schedule;
- Responsible to deliver committed deliverables at each design stage;
- Prepare tender scope of work, specification and BOQ;
- Guide CAD designer to produce drawings.
- Coordinate with other disciplines on design and other deliveries
Procurement Stage
- Response to technical queries from bidders;
- Chair technical clarification session;
- Evaluate technical submission from bidders and ensure bidders are comply with both technical and scope of works;
Construction Stage
- Assist EHS department in site safety supervision;
- Manager of work package;
- Initiate any design and scope of work change.
- Initiate technical submission to client.
- Review and approve technical submission from contractors.
- Review and approve work method statement submitted by contractors. Seeks EHS department’s advice in safety aspects.
- Initiate RFI to engineering manager, acknowledge by project manager.
- Leader in testing of commissioning for respective discipline, assisted by quality controller in documentation works.
- Provide support to contractor in resolving technical issues.
- Provide technical advice to construction teams.
- Advice and update construction team in scope of works and any change in scope of works. Commercial issues
- Liaison with commercial department in cost related issues.
- Provide technical support to quality control team in executing quality control plan. Provide technical specification, inspection test plan forms and checklist to quality controller.
Project Closure
- Sign off testing and commissioning forms and result;
- Verify all scope of works are completed;
- Assist quality controller in handover documentation compilation;
- Review and approve operating and maintenance manual submitted by contractors.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical/ HVAC/ Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent;
- At least 5 years working experience in the HVAC design/construction industry;
- Able to work independently under minimum supervision;
- Highly motivated with strong organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to prioritize to meet strict deadlines;
- Able to operate AutoCAD software, MS Excel, MS Words and MS PowerPoint;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- The position may require candidate to be seconded to project site;
- Open to travel locally and overseas and willing to be stationed at site when necessary.
