A rubber manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems. This role involves driving engineering innovation and solving problems on the ground to enhance product quality. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and a strong background in CAD and simulation tools. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required, while experience in the rubber industry is highly desirable.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the rubber manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will lead the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems and molds, while providing technical leadership and support to production and maintenance teams.
This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical design, mold analysis, and manufacturing process integration. The ideal candidate is analytical yet hands‑on, capable of driving both engineering innovation and on‑ground problem solving to enhance product quality, process reliability, and cost efficiency.
Lead the design and development of molds, tooling, and mechanical systems used in rubber compounding and molding operations.
Develop detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
Review and validate designs to ensure performance, manufacturability, and cost‑effectiveness.
Conduct and interpret FEA, thermal, and flow simulations to optimize mold and mechanical performance.
Use CAE tools to predict mechanical behavior, material flow, and thermal effects during the molding process.
Recommend design improvements based on simulation and testing outcomes.
Collaborate closely with production, R&D, and maintenance teams to resolve mechanical or process‑related issues.
Provide engineering guidance during new mold trials, equipment installation, and process optimization activities.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on cycle time reduction, defect elimination, and cost optimization.
Plan and execute prototype testing, data collection, and result analysis.
Document design changes, testing procedures, and validation reports for traceability.
Manage multiple engineering projects from concept to implementation.
Liaise with vendors, contractors, and cross‑functional teams to ensure technical and timeline requirements are met.
Support knowledge transfer and mentor junior engineers or technicians in design and analytical practices.
CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent) – Technical drawing/3D modeling.
Simulation tools (SolidWorks Simulation or equivalent) - FEA for mold structural, thermal, and flow analysis
Knowledge of materials and mechanical behavior in rubber molding applications
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Hands‑on approach and practical mindset
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Proven ability to manage projects independently and cross‑functionally
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s Degree is an advantage)
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in mechanical design, mold analysis, or manufacturing engineering
Experience in the rubber or polymer industry is highly desirable
Proficiency in FEA for mold simulation, and process improvement techniques
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies is an advantage
