Job summary

AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is hiring engineers in Penang to design and develop mechanical systems for next-generation semiconductor equipment.

You will lead cross-functional workstreams, implement robust system architectures, and drive performance and reliability throughout the product lifecycle. As part of a growing Malaysia hub, you will work on cross-border projects with global teams, shaping the technical direction and ensuring compliance with international standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong expertise in mechanical design of structures for complex equipment.
• Experience in finite element simulation and interpretation.
• Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) proficiency.
• Experience in requirements engineering and risk assessment.
• 3D CAD proficiency and PLM systems.
• ERP experience with SAP.
• Fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design mechanical system architectures and define interfaces and requirements.
• Lead FEM analysis for complex structures and adapt load cases regionally.
• Develop tolerance concepts and GD&T strategies for large assemblies.
• Conduct risk assessments to prevent integration and field failures.
• Drive design for manufacturing and cost optimization.
• Manage technical documentation and engineering changes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers.
• Coordinate with suppliers from prototyping to series production.
• Integrate exhaust, vacuum, heating and temperature control components.
• Create and review technical drawings and specifications.
