Overview

The Marketing Executive – Public Relations is responsible for developing and executing proactive public relations and media strategies that drive awareness, excitement, and positive brand perception for LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort. This includes managing relationships with media, influencers, and community partners; crafting compelling narratives; supporting brand campaigns; and ensuring all communications reflect the Resort’s positioning as the ultimate LEGO family destination in Asia.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute PR strategies to promote LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort across traditional and digital platforms, driving media exposure and positive sentiment.
  • Build, manage, and maintain relationships with key media, influencers, bloggers, and content creators in core and regional markets.
  • Research, create, and pitch story ideas, press releases, advisories, and news angles to maximize coverage across print, broadcast, and online media.
  • Coordinate and host media familiarization trips, influencer visits, and press events, including logistics, briefings, and post-event coverage.
  • Act as spokesperson or liaison for the Resort in assigned areas; prepare key messages, Q&As, and talking points for senior spokespeople.
  • Monitor media coverage, sentiment, and share of voice using analytics tools; prepare monthly PR performance reports with actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with digital, social, and brand teams to ensure consistent storytelling across channels and campaigns.
  • Support crisis communication readiness by maintaining a crisis response framework and coordinating with Merlin’s global PR and Legal teams as needed.
  • Maintain an updated media and influencer database, PR calendar, and content library (photos, videos, and testimonials).
  • Participate in marketing projects, events, and initiatives as assigned to support overall departmental goals.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in public relations, communications, or digital media, ideally within tourism, hospitality, or family entertainment industries.
  • Proven success in planning and executing media and influencer campaigns, press events, and community relations initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including media pitching, copywriting, and presentation skills.
  • Experience using media monitoring tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, Sprinklr) and digital reporting dashboards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functional in a fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or a related field. Professional certification in PR or digital marketing will be an advantage.
