Job summary

Chubb External is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter specializing in Marine and Specialty lines to lead underwriting activities for marine cargo, yacht, hull, and related classes. The role focuses on strategy, portfolio performance, and stakeholder advisory across intermediaries and clients.

You will analyze market trends, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior underwriters, while collaborating across sales, claims, product development, and operations teams to deliver tailored

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or professional insurance qualifications (e.g. AMII).
• Minimum of 7 years of underwriting experience in Marine and Specialty insurance.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for effective relationship management.
• Proven capability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Thorough understanding of marine and specialty insurance markets and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite risks related to marine cargo, yacht, hull, marine liability, fine art, jewelry, and other specialty lines.
• Develop and execute strategies to achieve profitable growth and optimize portfolio performance.
• Provide expert advice to intermediaries, clients, and internal stakeholders on complex underwriting matters.
• Analyze market trends, monitor portfolio performance, and adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with sales, claims, product development, and operations teams to provide comprehensive insurance solutions.
• Mentor junior underwriters and support ongoing training and development.
