A leading technology company in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive product and process engineering initiatives. The role involves leading New Product Introductions, managing engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Serve as the engineering leader for the plant, providing technical direction, problem‑solving leadership, and cross‑functional support.
Understand the P&L impact of engineering decisions and drive outcomes that support business performance.
Develop and implement the annual engineering operating plan and budget.
Act as a key contributor to factory management, identifying improvement opportunities across all functional areas.
Lead the analysis, justification, and preparation of capital expenditure projects, ensuring financial accuracy.
Forecast and plan capital needs to meet future operational and technology requirements.
Lead all NPI activities to ensure smooth and successful product launches in JB operations.
Identify new and emerging technologies aligned with business strategy.
Ensure concurrent development of robust manufacturing processes to support efficient product introduction.
Own and resolve day‑to‑day SMT and production engineering issues.
Set Engineering Development Cycle Time goals and metrics; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure mature, stable, and efficient production processes; lead structured root‑cause and process‑improvement projects.
Identify and drive cost savings, yield improvements, and productivity enhancements.
Set up and maintain BOMs and routings in the ERP system for new products.
Manage product drawings, specifications, and related documentation to ensure consistent and accurate production.
Oversee ECR/ECO processes to ensure controlled implementation of product changes.
Assess and manage technical risks for both new and existing products.
Lead and develop the engineering team; maintain sufficient staffing to meet changing operational demands.
Approve departmental procedures, KPIs, ECO/RCO, and other engineering control documents.
Develop and manage intellectual property within the engineering scope.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements.
Maintain QMS documentation and ensure adherence to internal and external standards.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Plan and coordinate activities for both local and global engineering projects.
Organize cross‑functional project teams, manage timelines, budgets, risks, and project reporting.
Ensure project documentation meets quality and compliance requirements.
Provide technical and engineering support to other company sites as required.
Collaborate with global engineering teams to align processes, share best practices, and resolve cross‑site issues.
Be willing and able to work temporarily at other locations based on business needs.
Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by management.
Possess Degree Certificates
Above 7 years related experience in Manufacturing Engineering, NPI Management
Good communication skill - liaise with R&D, GOP management, and Manufacturing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
Analyzing skill - Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
Coordinate and direct projects - making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
Team leader skills: can recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment
