Job Title

(Senior) Manager, Royalty Processing (Inbound)

About the role

Warner Chappell Music seeks a dynamic leader to oversee royalty processing across APAC from Kuala Lumpur. The role reports to the SVP Global Rights & Royalties in the UK and drives strategic direction, operational excellence, and regional alignment for APAC. The position requires an in‑office presence at least 4 days a week.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and inspire a high‑performing APAC royalty processing team.
  • Set strategic direction for royalty processing aligned with global goals and standardize procedures across territories.
  • Oversee ingestion, reconciliation and matching of inbound royalty data into Warner Chappell Music’s proprietary system.
  • Drive process improvement, change management and strategic alignment across APAC territories.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of royalty cycles across all income types and maintain robust validation processes.
  • Lead initiatives to improve workflows and operational efficiency and align regional efforts with global transformation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations, complete SOX audit processes and internal controls on schedule where applicable.
  • Define and report OKRs across operational functions, generate performance analytics and insights for senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with writers, clients, PROs, DSPs and third‑party partners and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in income processing within music publishing or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of royalty structures, copyright law and music contracts.
  • Experience modeling royalty allocations and managing deferred income/revenue.
  • High numeracy, data manipulation skills and confidence in completing analysis on high volume data.
  • Skilled in project management (Agile preferred) and change leadership.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
  • Proficiency in financial data tools – advanced Excel, Power Query, SQL, Alteryx or Data Brew.
  • Demonstrated success in managing global/regional teams and standardizing processes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and analytical skills.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese; Korean and other Asian languages are a plus.
  • Preferred: Experience with Tableau, Snowflake and royalty systems (CRD/DIF formats).
  • Preferred: SOX compliance experience.
