SENIOR MANAGER – REINSURANCE BROKER (REF:AC)
This company is a part of a Korean‑based reinsurance broking group with ambitious plans to expand across the ASEAN region. They offer professional brokering services, helping clients navigate insurance and reinsurance solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, understanding their reinsurance needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for major clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Build and sustain partnerships with reinsurers and other market participants to secure competitive terms and innovative solutions.
- Provide expert advice on coverage, programme structure, clauses, and market conditions.
- Lead the end‑to‑end reinsurance placement process: negotiations with reinsurers, terms & conditions review, slip and contract preparation, endorsements, invoices and documentation.
- Oversee data management and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal SOPs.
- Collaborate with internal teams (claims, finance, credit control) to ensure seamless execution of transactions, billing and settlements.
- Anticipate renewal timelines, initiate renewal processes and prevent potential issues proactively.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of brokers and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.
- Encourage standardisation of workflows and knowledge‑sharing across the team.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the client base and enhance revenue streams.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities and regulatory developments to inform strategic decisions.
- Support marketing activities such as client seminars, industry events and thought‑leadership initiatives.
- Analyse risks and exposures to provide clients with effective reinsurance solutions.
- Work closely with actuaries and underwriters to assess and price risk accurately.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian and international regulatory requirements, company policies, anti‑bribery/anti‑corruption standards and data protection (PDPA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, Actuarial Science or related field; professional qualifications (ACII, CPCU or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in reinsurance brokerage or related insurance roles with a proven track record in client management, placement and business development.
- Strong knowledge of reinsurance products, facultative/treaty markets, and regulatory environment in Malaysia and ASEAN.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with focus on team development and performance management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with broker management systems an advantage.

Location: KL Sentral
Working Hours: 8:45 am to 5:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
