Assume the pivotal role of a client CFO, ensuring financial oversight and strategic guidance.
Conduct comprehensive final reviews and ensure the quality of clients' financial reports, audit processes and tax obligations.
Serve as the authoritative technical expert on tax matters, encompassing tax laws, GST regulations, and their administration.
Take on the signatory responsibility for small‑scale engagements that do not necessitate an audit.
Provide expertise on disclosure requirements and updates to Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) requirements.
Perform the conclusive review of engagement contracts, their scope of work and oversee the seamless transition of contracts.
Assume comprehensive oversight of the Operations department and its personnel.
Lead the formulation of strategies and plans for the Operations department.
Collaborate in defining KPIs with top management and ensure fulfillment of all KPIs within the Operations department.
Manage the reporting of the Operations department's performance to upper management.
Support the management in upholding the company's stewardship responsibilities.
Spearhead the creation and updates of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes.
Monitor strict adherence to SOPs across all ongoing tasks.
Guarantee the punctual meeting of deadlines for accounting, tax, and various client‑related obligations (e.g., STB, ECDA, Singapore Law Society).
Contribute to the coaching and mentorship of Operations supervisors.
Assist in formulating development plans and fostering career progression and take on supervisory role for staff traineeships for Operations personnel.
Participate in the recruitment of skilled professionals within the Operations department.
Stay current with developments in the accounting profession, imparting training and briefings to the accounting staff.
Maintain active professional memberships with ACCA and MIA/MICPA as applicable.
Staying fully informed about all pertinent matters, regulations, and laws encompassing companies, businesses, taxation, human resources, audit, and accounting within the jurisdictions of Singapore and Malaysia.
Offer assistance and counsel on product development endeavors.
Member of Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA) or Malaysia Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK) and/or Degree in Accounting.
A decade or more of expertise within the accounting and tax industry, featuring a substantial 3‑5 year span dedicated to effectively managing professional teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – English, Malay and/or Mandarin.
Highly computer literate in Microsoft Apps (especially Excel), Xero and other various accounting softwares.
Proficient in meeting both internal company deadlines and externally mandated deadlines set by regulatory authorities.
