A leading technology firm in Penang is seeking a Senior Manager, Commodity Engineering to drive BTP commodities. We are seeking a high‑impact Senior Manager, Commodity Engineering to take ownership of our critical Build‑to‑Print (BTP) commodities within the Advanced Technology and Computing Cloud Solutions segment. If you thrive on driving supplier quality, strategic localization, and complex technical excellence—this is your chance to lead a team and define the future of our supply chain.
Reporting to the Commodity Management Director, you will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and leader for a global portfolio of high‑complexity mechanical and electro‑mechanical parts.
Strategic Leadership: Lead and mentor a team focused on BTP commodities, including Plastic Injection, Complex Machining, Thermal Cooling (Liquid Cooling), Power Supply, PCBs, and Cable Harnesses.
Supplier Quality Mastery: Drive top‑tier supplier quality performance, continuous improvement (DPPM, DMAIC, Six Sigma), and comprehensive quality issue resolution (internal and external).
Localization & Vetting: Lead global localization activities and be responsible for rigorous supplier qualification, including performing audits against standards like ISO9001, ISO 13485, and AS9100.
Engineering & Sourcing: Support Commodity Management in RFQ, cost reduction initiatives, and the strategic management/control of crucial supply sources.
Project Execution: Lead project management to ensure critical time‑to‑market and cost targets are met across various BTP projects.
10+ years of related experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or SCM disciplines.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business (or higher).
In‑depth knowledge of complex Mechanical Build‑to‑Print products and Hyperscaler Platform systems.
Proven track record of supplier quality improvement and success with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Expertise in global quality standards, including:
ISO9001 / ISO 13485 / AS9100 / IATF 16949 / VDA 6.3
IPC Standards and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GDT).
Experience with PPAP and AS9100 FAIR activities is a plus.
Exceptional ability to influence and work cross‑functionally across international sites.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem resolution skills.
Excellent business acumen and a Total Quality Management mindset.
Willingness to travel (approx. 25%).
