Job summary

AIA invites an experienced Lead Business System Analyst/Product Owner to guide the Agency - AIO Sales, Lead and Portal Servicing streams. You will mentor the existing team, run discovery workshops, gather requirements and manage the product backlog to ensure timely, quality delivery.

You will document user stories, lead UAT planning, and work closely with IT, APO and portfolio management to apply efficient SDLC processes in an Agile environment, balancing business value with technical

Qualifications

• Education: Tertiary Education in Management, Business or related areas.
• Experience: 10+ years in Life insurance industry with knowledge of distribution & compensation processes.
• Experience: Complex core/digital projects with multiple collaborators.
• Hands-on leadership and problem-solving mindset.
• Strong understanding of Agile/SDLC and requirement execution.
• People management of a 5–10 member team.
• Hands-on experience with key insurance apps (POS, portals, Policy Admin).
• Production support/BAU experience.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Lead Business System Analyst/Product Owner for Agency - AIO Sales, Lead and Portal Servicing streams.

As a Lead Business System Analyst, you will lead the existing team, guide, and assist them with Discovery Workshops, Requirement Gathering User Story Management, Product backlog Tracking, UAT Strategy and Planning, Test Case Review and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time with quality.

To facilitate working in Agile environment, User Requirement / User Story documentation, UAT and implementation of complex requirements.

Proven track record and expertise in Gathering, Analyzing, Detailing complex business requirements with multiple collaborators.

Efficiently lead team members and provide continued mentorship to scale up team capabilities.

Implement and apply efficient SDLC processes working closely with IT, APO and IT portfolio management department. Follow AIA governance and procedures.

Work with hands-on approach to ensure various business needs and related technology support are met and aligned with overall objective of meeting.

Job Requirements

• Education: Tertiary Education in Management, Business or related areas.
• Experience: Life insurance domain: At least 10 years of experience in Life insurance industry with in-depth understanding of insurance distribution & compensation processes.
• Experience: in both Core & Digital Projects environment: Experience in complex implementations of core / digital projects with deep understanding of challenges and expectation management of such environment.
• Hands-on approach: Hand-on working mindset with leading and working with a team... Possesses problem solving and troubleshooting skills, to look for solutions within the available means and resources with the ability to work on details and visualize solution with 360 degree impact analysis.
• SDLC: Have end to end understanding of Agile / SDLC and related processes and been a direct part of execution of various phases of SDLC.
• People Management: Experience in managing a team size of 5 to 10 members.
• Life insurance systems: Hands-on experience in implementing, supporting and managing key insurance critical applications such as point of sales, agent / customer portals and apps, Policy Admin Systems, Callidus and reporting system.
• Production support: Solid experience and exposure in managing and driving efficient production support / BAU processes.

Certifications/licenses

• LOMA [good to have]
• Any system / application related certifications

Special skills

• Advance expertise in MS Excel, Basic SQL and Presentation skills.
• Understanding and experience in UI/UX and Digital app development.
