Job summary

Ssq uad Global is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead our legal, contract lifecycle, and compliance efforts for Malaysia and APAC. You will manage commercial contracts, oversee PDPA/GDPR compliance, and support cybersecurity operations and MSSP initiatives.

You will draft and negotiate SaaS and partner contracts, oversee license renewals, and provide guidance to Sales, Delivery, SOC, HR, and Finance teams while handling risk and disputes.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of corporate legal experience required.
• Strong IT, cybersecurity, SaaS, or technology contracts background.
• Knowledge of GDPR, PDPA and cross-border data compliance.
• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills with stakeholders.
• Experience managing license renewals and vendor contracts.
• Eligible to work in Malaysia without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, SaaS, MSSP, and partner contracts.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle from drafting to renewal.
• Ensure regulatory compliance including PDPA and cybersecurity standards.
• Oversee license renewals for SIEM/SOAR tools and SaaS platforms.
• Maintain contract/license repositories and renewal calendars.
• Provide legal guidance to Sales, Delivery, SOC, HR, and Finance teams.
• Handle legal risks, disputes, notices, and escalations.

We are hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to lead our legal, contract lifecycle, and compliance functions for Malaysia and APAC. The ideal candidate will manage all commercial contracts, ensure regulatory compliance (including PDPA), oversee license renewals, and support our cybersecurity operations and MSSP business.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial, SaaS, MSSP, and partner contracts.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle — drafting, approvals, execution, renewals.
• Ensure compliance with PDPA Malaysia, cybersecurity regulations, ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR.
• Oversee license renewals for SIEM/SOAR tools, threat intel feeds, and SaaS platforms.
• Maintain contract and license repositories, renewal calendars, and compliance documentation.
• Provide legal guidance to Sales, Delivery, SOC, HR, and Finance teams.
• Handle legal risks, disputes, notices, and vendor/customer escalations.

About you

• LLB/LLM with 7–12 years of corporate legal experience.
• Strong background in IT, cybersecurity, SaaS, or technology contracts.
• Solid understanding of GDPR, PDPA and cross border data compliance.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing license renewals and vendor contracts.
• Valid eligibility/work authorization to work in Malaysia.
