About the Role

As a CBRE Counsel Sr., you will be responsible for providing legal support and guidance services for a variety of complex and confidential legal activities.

This role is part of the Legal Services function, which provides legal counsel and guidance in the ordinary and special activities of the organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents related to commercial real estate, primarily services in the United States and Canada.
  • Provide counsel and legal advice to managers, executives, and employees on legal aspects of various business lines.
  • Work with the business to prepare client, partner, and other commercial contracts; handle project‑specific legal matters; and assist with business mergers and acquisitions.
  • Investigate claims and complaints by or against the company and report findings to business leadership.
  • Resolve pre‑litigation disputes and assist the business with alternative dispute resolution issues.
  • Apply in‑depth knowledge of standard legal principles and techniques to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share knowledge of your discipline and broader job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example, model CBRE RISE values, build consensus, and convince others on a range of legal issues.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain complex or sensitive information to the business in straightforward terms.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution and admission as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in good standing.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Ability to work across multiple countries and jurisdictions in the Americas region.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
