Position: Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Family Medicine

Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated academic professional to join our Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and engagement activities within the discipline of Family Medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning:
- Deliver high-quality teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes within the School. Contribute to curriculum development and ensure alignment with programme learning outcomes.
- Student Support:
- Supervise student research and projects. Provide clear guidance on assignments and offer timely, constructive feedback during consultations.
- Assessment & Evaluation:
- Design and conduct both formative and summative assessments. Ensure grading practices are fair, transparent, and aligned with learning objectives.
- Academic Oversight:
- Monitor student performance and contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of academic programmes.
- Administrative Contributions:
- Actively participate in the administration and operational management of the School and the Faculty.
- Research & Scholarship:
- Engage in research activities aligned with the department’s goals and strategic priorities. Publish in reputable journals and pursue external research funding where possible.
- Industry & Community Engagement:
- Build strong partnerships with academic, industry, and professional bodies. Represent the Faculty at public seminars, exhibitions, open days, and other outreach events.
- Quality Assurance:
- Support internal and external quality assurance processes to uphold the University’s academic standards.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Head of Department to support the faculty’s mission.
Job Requirements
- Academic Qualifications:
- MBBS and a Master’s degree, Fellowship, or PhD in Family Medicine. Must be registered with the National Specialist Register (NSR) of Malaysia and possess a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and/or other relevant professional registrations.
- Teaching Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a relevant discipline. Experience in curriculum delivery, student assessment, and educational innovation is preferred.
- Subject Expertise:
- Strong foundational knowledge in Family Medicine, with the ability to contribute across a broad range of teaching areas.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, and the ability to engage effectively with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Professional & Industry Experience:
- Practical experience in clinical or industry settings is a significant advantage.
