Job description

You will be reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Education. Responsible for planning and delivering teaching, developing learning materials and assessment questions, grading students’ exam scripts, supervising and being involved in research projects and publications. The goal is to recruit and retain students based on your expertise and drive sustainable financial growth through maintaining and upgrading the quality of university courses and programmes.

Expertise/fields needed are:

• Science / Mathematics Education
• Educational Leadership and Management

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach, develop and coordinate the delivery of courses via Google Meet.
• Undertaking research projects and publishing in academic journals in relevant areas.
• Responsible for preparing, developing, and upgrading learning materials and assessment questions.
• Ensure relevant courses and programmes comply with the MQA regulatory body requirements.
• Grade and review assignments, practicum projects, APEL assessments, and final examination scripts.
• Identify and propose qualified external SMEs, tutors and examiners.
• Supervise, review, assess and examine students’ research projects and thesis.
• Provide academic consultation to students and communicate with external tutors via MyINSPIRE platform.
• Assisting faculty with other tasks relevant to the University and all other duties assigned by the Faculty and Management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a Doctor of Education (EDD) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Education.
• Candidates with a Master’s Degree and who have passed the doctorate viva will be considered.
• Proven teaching experience as a lecturer, tutor, or facilitator in the education industry or a higher education institution.
• A strong record of teaching adult learners, as well as familiarity with ODL teaching methods and MQA documentations.
• Ability to manage a heavy workload, projects, and multitask.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and guidance, and able to handle uncertainty.
• High skill in oral and written communication, both in English and Bahasa Melayu.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines under fast-changing circumstances.
• Energetic and independent person with good organisational skills, such as teamwork and creativity in problem-solving.
• Established a high degree of integrity and regarded honesty as a high priority.
• Ability to use, communicate, teach, interact and complete the task using computer technology and other associated technology.
• Ready to conduct online tutorials after working hours or on weekends.
