Job summary

Great Eastern in Malaysia seeks a Senior Lead Audit Specialist to supervise and coach the audit team across GELM, GEGM, GETB and GELL on planning, executing and managing engagements. The role ensures adherence to Internal Audit methodology and delivers high-quality audit outputs.

You will review documentation, optimize resource use, and produce actionable recommendations while leading issue tracking and staff development. Strong governance and compliance focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, CIA and CISA.
• At least 12 years of relevant work experience, with 8 years in a position leading a team.
• Knowledge on best practice requirements underpin corporate governance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach the audit team in planning, executing and managing audits.
• Review audit documentation (APM, RAP and RCTS) to ensure they meet Internal Audit methodology.
• Ensure optimal utilisation of resources for audits and timely delivery of risk-based engagements.
• Ensure quality audit reports with practical, actionable recommendations.
• Supervise issue tracking to ensure timely follow-ups by auditees.
• Participate in training and coaching of audit staff and assess development needs.
• Develop informal networks and maintain good relationships across the organisation.
• Participate in annual audit planning and risk assessment exercises.
• Consider business and regulatory compliance risks and mitigate them accordingly.
• Stay aware of regulatory trends and technologies to safeguard the company.
