Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Latex & Compounding Manager to lead latex compounding operations, chemical analysis, quality inspection and R&D activities. You will oversee end-to-end formulation, maturation, testing and compounding of natural rubber latex for high-precision extrusion.

You will manage a team of chemists, lab technicians and operators, ensuring batch-to-batch consistency, chemical stability, cost efficiency and strict safety/environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Polymer Science, Rubber Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in natural rubber latex analysis and testing methodologies.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in latex compounding, stabilization and dispersion formulation.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in laboratory testing, chemical checking and quality control.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in R&D and process optimization for dipped/extruded NR latex products.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily latex compounding activities, dispersion preparation, vulcanization systems and maturation processes.
• Optimize formulations for various product sizes, ensuring target modulus, elongation, tensile strength and aging properties.
• Monitor viscosity, pH, TSC, DRC, MST and pre-vulcanization levels; troubleshoot defects with production teams.
• Establish and enforce QC protocols for incoming raw materials including field latex, sulfur, accelerators and stabilizers.
• Lead analytical testing to evaluate VFA numbers, KOH numbers, alkalinity and trace metals affecting stability.
• Supervise chemical checking at all stages—from raw latex to extrusion feed lines.
• Drive R&D to develop cost-efficient formulations, improve durability and reduce chemical consumption.
• Supervise, mentor and evaluate compounding supervisors, lab analysts and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with factory safety standards and environmental regulations.
