Responsibilities

• Analyze functional and technical requirements and propose optimized solution to fulfil the requirements
• Write well-designed and efficient code
• Resourceful and willing to explore and apply the right 3rd party library or framework to the solution
• Good knowledge in common source code security vulnerabilities and able to rectify quickly
• Perform unit tests and capture proof of testing systematically
• Conduct code review and provide constructive feedback to peers / junior developers
• Prepare high quality technical design documents to reflect application design patterns and utilized libraries with minimal rectification effort
• Experience and practice agile delivery; participate in all relevant Agile ceremonies

Essential Experience, Skills and Competencies

Experience:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent field
• A Java Developer with minimum 5 years of experience
• Excellent English communication both verbal and written
• Exposure to insurance industry will be an advantage

Skills:

• In depth knowledge in designing, building and testing J2EE applications
• Good object-oriented knowledge
• JAX-RS, SAAJ (SOAP for Attachments API for Java), JOLT (JSON Language for Transform), Sprint Framework
• Develop and maintain Gradle that works with AzDO CI Pipeline to build application seamlessly
• Web service and microservice (REST/SOAP) with XML & JSON
• Good Azure Kubernetes, Azure PaaS and Docker image knowledge
• Mobile Technologies iOS & Android
• Implement and deploy Tomcat & Liberty in UNIX/Linux environment
• Experience in Veracode and SonarQube will be an added advantage
• Analytical & good problem‑solving skills
• Versatile with ability to learn and apply new technical skills in fast‑paced project
