Job summary

AIA Malaysia is seeking an experienced Lead Internal Auditor to provide objective assessments of internal control systems, support the audit plan, and mentor the audit team. The role reports to the Head of Internal Audit and collaborates with management to deliver actionable recommendations.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in internal/external audit within insurance or financial services, with CPA or CIA, and hands-on experience with data analytics tools like Power BI and Databricks, plus

Qualifications

• 10+ years of internal/external audit experience in the insurance/financial or related industry.
• Professional qualification such as CPA or CIA.
• Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Databricks).
• Strong understanding of insurance operations and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge with audit tools and software such as TeamMate, ACL, MS Office.
• Strong analytical, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify key risks at the local level for each entity based on strategies and business environment.
• Develop the annual audit plan based on identified risks.
• Plan, lead and implement audits; evaluate adequacy of controls against schedule.
• Coordinate audits by regulators, external auditors and other assurance groups; partner with internal audit colleagues.
• Supervise preparation of audit schedules, Audit Committee and country reports; meet reporting requirements.
• Review and discuss audit reports and remedial actions with management.
• Facilitate issuance of audit reports to management; follow up on remedial actions.
• Mentor and develop junior staff; ensure sufficient resources and expertise.
• Coordinate team work to meet internal standards and budget; support training.
