Job summary

A leading talent solutions provider in Terengganu is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to oversee compliance and quality assurance in the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will conduct inspections, review engineering documentation, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. A Diploma in Engineering, CSWIP 3.1 certification, and at least 10 years in the industry are required. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this offshore role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Valid CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification required.
  • Valid CSWIP 3.4 or PCN RI Level II certification for Radiographic Interpretation needed.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • At least 7 years of offshore experience in gas processing / wellhead platforms.
  • Experience with PETRONAS or similar PSC in Malaysia.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, NDT, piping codes, and inspection standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong reporting and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in offshore environments.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and reports.
  • Identify and report non-conformance issues.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports for clients.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project teams for quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with PETRONAS and regulatory standards.
  • Support project audits and quality surveillance.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections on mechanical and piping works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Verify and monitor welding activities, NDT, and material traceability.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, WPS, PQR, and NDT reports.
  • Identify, report, and follow up on non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed inspection and surveillance reports for submission to clients.
  • Coordinate with contractors, project teams, and client representatives to resolve quality issues.
  • Ensure all mechanical and piping activities comply with PETRONAS and regulatory requirements.
  • Support project audits and quality surveillance as required.
