Position Overview
Inside Sales activities of South East Asia, Pacific & Taiwan (SEAP+T) for New Construction such as inquiry analysis in commercial and technical aspects, preparation of strategic quotations, bringing in cleared orders, etc for valves and other IMI Process Automation products. The individual shall be ready for occasional travel in the region to meet and present to customers, whenever required.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and submission of good quality technical and commercial proposals
- Select the suitable product and proper accessories in accordance with the customers’ requisition, codes and basic plant application understanding to generate sound technical proposals
- Estimate the manufacturing cost of the product and prepare the commercial proposals
- Clarify the customer’s and IMI Process Automation commercial terms and conditions
- Prepare the deviations and clarifications sheets
- Operate and update tools
- Building up a closer bilateral relationship with customers / sales channels / factories / other departments
- Communicate with customer to fix the product specification
- Collect and analyse customers’ needs
- Negotiate with customers on technical and commercial matters
- Internal negotiation with various factories / departments
- Preparation of order packages
- Prepare the related documents and instructions of manufacturing to hand over the order to the Project Management Team
- Assist in Sales team activities
- Prepare technical presentation materials for Sales / customers
- Present selection / proposal to customers
- Develop the skilled staff (applicable for Senior Engineer role)
- Advise / train junior staff for technical issues
- Set-up winning strategy in respect of technical and commercial
Desired Profile of the candidate
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5 or more years related experience in a similar position and organization, preferably in control valves or other mechanically related equipment, or related experience, either in oil and gas, power plants or the chemical industry.
- Process Application know how for Power and/or Oil & Gas industries.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills essential
- Positive, aggressive, open minded, an achiever & a team player
- Excellent communications skills, in both verbal and written English
- Good knowledge in MS Excel, Word and MS PowerPoint
- CRM Tool – Salesforce knowledge will be a plus
Reporting Relationships
This role reports to the Inside Sales Manager, SEAPT, based in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and functionally reports to Inside Sales Lead for New Construction. This role has no direct reports.
