Job summary

Air Liquide Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a qualified Site Safety & Regulatory Compliance professional to act as the registered SHO with a Green Book. The role focuses on ensuring OSH regulatory compliance across production sites and leading safety initiatives.

The successful candidate will conduct risk assessments, lead investigations using 5-Why methodology, and manage internal HSE training programs while coordinating Safety Committee activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in OSH or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) holding a valid DOSH Green Book.
  • Experience delivering internal HSE training programs; Train-the-Trainer certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of local safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Site Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Act as the registered SHO to ensure compliance with OSH regulations and reporting requirements across sites.
  • Risk Management & Workplace Inspections: Conduct regular inspections, hazard assessments, and risk mitigations for machinery, chemicals, and processes.
  • Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations using 5-Why to identify root causes and preventive actions.
  • HSE Training & Committee Leadership: Plan and deliver internal safety training; serve as Secretary for the Safety and Health Committee.
  • Emergency Preparedness & Security Support: Maintain emergency plans, coordinate drills, and enforce safety policies.
  • HSE Data Management & Reporting: Collect and analyze HSE statistics and documentation for reviews and audits.

Job description

Site Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Act as the registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with a valid Green Book to ensure strict compliance with local OSH regulations, company standards, and statutory reporting requirements across operational sites.

Risk Management & Workplace Inspections: Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and environmental risk mitigations for machinery operation, chemical handling, and site processes.

Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into workplace incidents, near-misses, and operational issues using 5-Why methodology to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.

HSE Training & Committee Leadership: Plan and deliver internal safety training programs and serve as the Secretary for the Safety and Health Committee to drive continuous OSH awareness.

Emergency Preparedness & Security Support: Maintain site emergency response plans, coordinate safety drills, conduct security audits, and enforce company security policies.

HSE Data Management & Reporting: Collect, analyze, and maintain site HSE statistics, incident records, and compliance documentation for monthly management reviews and audits.

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of relevant HSE experience within a manufacturing environment.

Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) holding a valid DOSH Green Book.

Experienced in delivering internal HSE training programs, with Train-the-Trainer (TTT) certification considered an added advantage.

In-depth knowledge of local safety, health, and environmental legal compliance, regulations, and statutory standards.

Strong communication skills with a track record of effectively engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
